Acrylic and Ink on Canvas.
I was brain-storming for my “teapot piece” (the one for school. You’ll find out more later), and I decided to go halfway and stencil some teacups.
I made a teacup stencil out of paper. In hindsight I now know that I should have used proper stencilling paper. The flimsy paper stencil just got messier with each teacup.
So as the teacups progress something disappears. As you can see, the second last teacup is left with only the “handle.” I did this to put a spin on the typical Pop Art image. The last teacup, fully formed and in black, adds an extra punch. Perhaps the four different coloured teacups represent the many sides of the final teacup. Am I looking too far into it?
Once again, I wanted to put a spin on the Pop Art image (and to fill up the empty space). I wanted it to appear as if the teacups are strung up by something.
