Keep Warm

Conté in sketchbook.

Conté in sketchbook.

I drew this the first night at the cabin. It was my first real attempt at Conté (when I first started the fireplace drawing I thought I was using regular old charcoal).

The cabin was wonderful even though we didn’t have running water or a lot of heat (we also had a larger than normal mouse-friend). We acted how I imagine “real” artists act: I drew, he photographed and filmed. We even collaborated (the result will be published shortly. Very exciting). I feel like I could say that we made love like artists as well. But I’ll just leave that alone.

The warmest day arrived just for our drive home. That often happens, doesn’t it? On the way home I played mixed CDs that I had made in Junior High. The music wasn’t all that bad. I’m pretty proud of my fourteen-yearold self.
